In saying the obvious, in order to get real estate leads you must take part in real estate lead generation. Actually you have to do lots of it. You can't do it now, a few hours next week or even month. It has to be carried out daily.

Yes you can get some leads if you're inconsistent. But to be a true real estate professional, living a thriving career as a top earning agent, you have to do real estate lead generation every single day; for the remainder of your career. This is non negotiable. OK?

It Must Be A Priority

Lead generation must be a priority. In fact you have to subscribe to this belief that dealing with business not takes preference over finding business. Doing direct generation everyday must come first before anything else gets done. If you don't adopt this mantra you'll allow other things to impact your daily life and this activity will become insignificant and probably will not get done. If you're casual about it, then you will suffer casualties in your small business.

The Challenge

The greatest challenge most agents face is not doing some lead generation but doing it consistently. It's the one stumbling block which knocks most agents out of this ball park. It's the crucial daily activity the successful agents adopt and those leaving the industry failed not to perform.

Time Blocking

You'll have to allocate time to performing this daily activity. It is like creating an appointment on your own; one which can not be broken. You'll face many temptations, usually coming from the ineffective agents in your workplace. Offers to truly have a very long lunch or slide out for coffee are fine but should they impede into your dedicated time of creating real estate prospects, then you have to say "no more".

Time blocking isn't easy. It requires some discipline. However, before you get wrapped up about the term area, let me clarify that what I mean is performing a task consistently. To me that's discipline. Nobody is totally disciplined. They possibly in some areas of their own life but in others it might just be chaotic. Being disciplined to me is being constant.

What Can Successful Real Estate Agents Time Block?

 Family for a whole lot of people comes first.
And so therefore once you start your year, take out your calendar or diary and time block out your vacations for your year. As a result you prove to yourself and family they are a priority. These short breaks help you recharge and keep you going through the daily grind of real estate lead generation.

Second you need to allocate daily time to really generating prospects. I would suggest doing this in either a diary and on a wall or table. Real Estate Leads is dependent upon your discipline to a degree, but something that I hear from realtors who targets carrying out their everyday tasks is they don't open their journal. A wall calendar is visual and exactly what the eye sees, the mind is going to do.
